What docXporter Does

docXporter is a Chrome extension that exports documentation from websites you visit into file formats (Markdown, HTML, Text, PDF). It works by reading the content of documentation pages you navigate to and converting them into structured files.

Free Tier - Local Processing

When using the free tier, all processing happens locally in your browser. No data is sent to our servers or any third party. The extension reads the documentation pages you visit, processes them client-side, and generates a downloadable file. We do not collect, store, or transmit any page content.

Pro Tier - Server Processing

When using Pro features, some processing occurs on our servers hosted on Cloudflare:

• What is sent: HTML content of documentation pages you choose to export, and DOM detection signals (boolean flags about page structure, not page content).
• How it's used: Content is processed (extracted, cleaned, formatted) and returned to you as a file. It is not stored after processing completes.
• What is stored: Your account email (for authentication), subscription status, and aggregate usage counts (number of exports). We do not store exported content.

Data We Collect

Account Data (Pro users only)

• Email address (via Google OAuth)
• Subscription status and plan
• Export count per billing period

Analytics (All users, anonymous)

• Which platforms are detected (e.g., "Docusaurus", "GitBook") - no URLs
• Which export formats are used
• Number of pages per export
• Extension version

Analytics data is anonymous and not linked to your identity. We use it to understand which features are used and prioritize development.

What We Never Collect

• The URLs you visit
• The content of pages you browse (only pages you explicitly export, for Pro processing)
• Browsing history
• Personal data beyond your email (Pro only)
• Data from non-documentation pages

Permissions Explained

storage	Save your export settings (format, batch size, etc.) across sessions
notifications	Show a notification when your export completes

Third Parties

• Cloudflare: Server infrastructure for Pro features (processing, not storage)
• Paddle: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions (we never see your payment details)
• Google: OAuth authentication for Pro accounts

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any other third parties.

Data Retention

• Exported content: Not retained. Processed and returned immediately.
• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
• Analytics: Aggregated, anonymous, retained indefinitely.

Your Rights

You can:

• Use the free tier with zero data collection (local processing only)
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your account data
• Opt out of anonymous analytics (setting in extension)

We'll update this page if our privacy practices change. Material changes will be announced via the extension update notes.
